So you love country music and live performances at every turn? Then you likely already know that Nashville is the place for that! Not only are there streets lined with bars, almost all of them have live music playing as early as 10 AM with talented artists! In this post I’m rounding up my most recent trip to Music City and making a to do list of things that are still on my wish list!
We decided to go to Nashville just a couple of weeks before this trip. It just so happened to be during the first big snowstorm in the south of 2025. My parents were begging me not to go due to the weather but I figured it would be a fun adventure. I have to admit that I was right! We drove up Thursday night and woke up to a winter wonderland that was absolutely STUNNING! And, it snowed ALL. DAY. LONG. which was SO fun for this southern gal to see!
We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn at Vanderbilt University. This was decently affordable and the rate was competitive with other comparable hotels within the Vanderbilt area. This is my favorite part of the city to stay in because you can walk to Broadway and Division Street easily. Using my Hilton Honors account made it even cheaper which was nice! However, I have to say that next time I will stick to what I know and stay at the Hampton Inn in the Vanderbilt area because the Hilton Garden made you pay per day for parking and breakfast isn’t included, which is lame.
This brings me to Friday morning! We woke up on our own time (an adult luxury that I savor) and got ready for the day. I wore a sweater with an undershirt, leggings, a beanie, and my XTRATUF boots. They are linked in my LTK and I will include that link here as well. This was the perfect outfit for continual snowfall while bar hopping! We started out at the Red Door Saloon where I had an INCREDIBLE mushroom and swiss burger. 10/10 would eat that again. Then, we made our way over to Loser’s which is one of my favorite bars in Nashville. This time was new for me though because we got to check out Riley Green’s Duck Blind bar thats new! It was pretty nice and definitely cool to hear a good bit of his music there. We sat and watched football and the snow coming down for a few hours.
Then, we made the snowy trek to broadway! This is about a 30 minute, 1.2 mile walk, so an Uber is definitely reasonable but we decided that we wanted to experience the snow! It wasn’t super cold out even though the snow was falling consistently. The views of the city during the walk were fabulous too. We went to so many different bars on Broadway and listened to so much great music! That night, Texas played Ohio State in the semi-finals (I think?) of the College Football Playoff so we went over to Germantown to watch it at a sports bar called Neighbors with my friend, Kelly!
The next day we woke up and headed straight for coffee at Dunkin! The warm coffees were essential because it felt much much colder. I wanted to go to a new coffee shop but Dunkin was walkable and driving in the snow slush was a little intimidating so we opted to walk. Then I got ready for the day and we headed back to the Red Door to watch Florida basketball! The Red Door is the type of dive bar that you can sit in all day long and have a fantastic time. But, we made our way back down to Broadway to watch one of my favorite Nashville performers, Evan Cyote. The first time I saw her play was during a bachelorette party in 2022 at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge. She was so much fun to watch that I try my best to see her each time I go! She played with her band at The Valentine so we ate dinner and watched them SLAYYYY their set for a while. Then we headed to Bridgestone Arena to watch the Predators play the Washington Capitals in hockey. This was a first for me and it was INCREDIBLE! I absolutely loved it and can now say I’m a hockey fan, but especially a preds fan! Not to mention, our seats were amazing.
Then, we ended the night and the weekend by meeting up with my friend Kelly and her roommates at some bars on Broadway! We also went to the Wild Beaver Saloon, which I fully recommend! They have a mechanical bull, which all of them rode, and karaoke! It is one block off of Broadway and so worth the walk! It is NEVER a bad time at the beaver.
